Gilberto Silva is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. He made his name in Brazil for Atlético Mineiro, then went on to win the 2002 World Cup with Brazil. He then joined Arsenal, where he was vice-captain, then became Brazil captain. He then joined Panathinaikos in Greece.
