Player Ratings: Chile 0-3 Brazil
Back to their best. That’s Brazil tonight against Chile as they attacked with flair and style, created plenty of chances and put three in the back of the net. Goal.com rates the performers on the pitch.

Gilberto Silva – 7.5: Stamped his authority in midfield. Credit to him for not falling for the temptation to join the attack.

Gilberto to play for Brazil against Chile

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

“Chile take on Brazil in a World Cup Qualifier”:

Brazil need to win this one and i think that they will win it, let me tell you why.Brazil have met Chile 9 times before in the history, Brazil won 8 of them and drew 1 back in 2004.Coach Dunga has hinted he will use Robinho, Luis Fabiano and Ronaldinho in the starting lineup for the crucial match in Santiago, after the team failed to score in its last two qualifiers.Brazil is currently 5th in WC South America Qualifing, and only top 4 qualifies for WC 2010.In the final training at Friday in Rio de Janeiro before traveling to Chile, the squad had a scrimmage with Robinho, Ronaldinho and Luis Fabiano in the same team, leaving Diego with the role of playmaker.

The trio of forwards had already practiced together on Thursday.”It felt good to play in the attack again,” Ronaldinho said. “I’ve played in this position many times before so I don’t think we will have any problems. We have many players with a lot of quality.”Dunga usally uses Ronaldinho in midfield but now he needs more atacking power and he will be probably an winger. It’s a good tactic to play with three strikers,” said Robinho, who will be playing his first match with the national team since transferring from Spain’s Real Madrid to England’s Manchester City. “With the players we have, Brazil always has to be aggressive.”With the 3 strikers Dunga will use 2 defensive midfielders, who will likely be Gilberto Silva and Josue.

If Dunga loses or even drew in this one he might be replaced by the Brazilian Football Federation.Even President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva criticized the Brazilian team recently.Dunga is without AC Milan star Kaka, who is still recovering from a lingering knee injury. Brazil, the only team to have qualified to all World Cups, will host Bolivia next Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro.Lucas Leiva from Liverpool is suspended duting the Olympic Games, Defender Juan has a muscle injury but i think there are many more Brazilian players that can play this one and win it.

This is something like a must win situation as if he doesn’t win Dunga will definitely be replaced.

And I am quite convinced that Brazil are going to win this one and i am placing 10 units on what should be a good win for Brazil.
